Still stuck?
Send us the link and a short description and we will take a look.
Cooking step by step
- Open any recipe and tap Start cooking.
- Swipe or tap to move through the steps; your place is remembered if you leave the app.
- Timers for steps appear at the top of the screen so you can keep an eye on them.
- Adjust servings before you start if you want the ingredient amounts to scale.
Planning and groceries
Meal plan
- Open the Plan tab and pick a day.
- Tap Add meal, choose a slot such as dinner, then pick a recipe from your library.
- Tap any planned meal to open the recipe and start cooking.
Grocery list
- Open a recipe and tap Add to shopping list.
- Open the Groceries tab: ingredients from every recipe you added are merged together.
- Tap an item to check it off, and clear the completed items once you are home.
Troubleshooting
iRecipes is not in my share menu
Open the share sheet, swipe the app row all the way to the end, tap More, then Edit, and turn iRecipes on. Full steps: Enable Quick Import.
The import failed
- Check that you are online — importing needs a connection.
- For a video, make sure the recipe is written out (in the description, a pinned comment, or the post text) rather than only spoken.
- Try the recipe in Safari and import from the page instead of the app.
- For a photo, use a shot where the ingredient list and the steps are both readable.
An ingredient or step came out wrong
Open the recipe, tap Edit and correct it — your edits are kept. If it happens often for one source, send us the link so we can improve the importer.
I want to remove a recipe
Open the recipe, use the ••• menu, and choose Delete. Deleting a recipe also removes it from your plan and its ingredients from the grocery list.
