Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to the iRecipes iPhone app, its share extension and the website at irecipes.online (together, the “Service”), provided by iRecipes (“iRecipes”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for digital consent in your country, to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

3. Your licence to use iRecipes

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple’s standard end-user licence terms also apply to apps distributed through the App Store, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of that licence.

You may not:

• copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the app,
• reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source code, except where the law expressly permits it,
• rent, lease, sublicense, resell or redistribute the Service, or
• remove or obscure any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice.

4. Subscriptions and free trials

• iRecipes offers an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the full experience. New users may be offered a free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• If you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, the subscription begins and your account is charged.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in line with the App Store terms; we cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves. Unused trial time is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• We may change subscription prices. We will give you advance notice, and the change will not apply to a period you have already paid for.

5. Your recipes and content

You keep all rights to the recipes, notes, photos and other content you create or save in iRecipes (“Your Content”). You grant us the limited licence we need to store, process, back up, sync and display Your Content so we can operate the Service — nothing more. Withdrawing that licence means deleting the relevant content or the app.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to save and use it. You can delete your recipes and library data in the app at any time.

6. Imported and third-party content

The import feature reads recipes from websites, videos and images and converts them into a structured recipe for your personal use. Recipe text, photographs and videos remain the property of their owners.

• Import is provided as a convenience for personal use. We do not claim ownership of imported content.
• We do not control third-party sources and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or terms.
• Automated extraction can be incomplete or wrong. Always check an imported recipe before you rely on it, and edit it if needed.
• If you believe content has been imported in a way that infringes your rights, contact us at support@irecipes.online and we will investigate.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• break any law, infringe anyone’s rights, or import content you are not allowed to save;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape or gain unauthorised access to our systems or those of our providers;
• upload malicious code, or attempt to bypass usage limits or subscription controls;
• resell the Service or make it available to third parties as your own.

We may suspend or end access if you do any of the above.

8. Nutrition and allergy information

Nutrition figures, dietary tags, serving sizes and timings produced by iRecipes — including estimates generated automatically — are approximate and for general information only. They are not medical or dietary advice.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep iRecipes available, but the Service is provided as-is and may be interrupted by maintenance, updates or factors outside our control. We may add, change or remove features, and may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice. Some features need an internet connection and depend on third-party services we do not control.

10. Intellectual property

The app, this website, our name, logo, design, illustrations and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a licence to use the Service; they do not transfer ownership of anything.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that imported recipes will be complete or accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 20.

We are not responsible for content you import, for decisions you make based on the Service, or for the acts and omissions of third-party services. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we are required to by law. If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice so you can export or remove your recipes. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers and liability — will survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where iRecipes is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Before starting formal proceedings, please write to support@irecipes.online so we can try to sort it out.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms when the Service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. For significant changes we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
